Your opportunity

We’re looking for a dedicated and reliable editing wizard, with a love for impeccable logistics and good planning to join our growing digital company.

As our Video Editor and Producer, you will be supporting all on-set production needs including lighting, videography, audio, and talent/team wrangling, executing all post-production tasks including video, audio and colour editing, recording and editing webinars, devising motion graphics, and maintaining all multimedia file systems well-organised and up to date for sharing.

Your responsibilities include:

Familiarising yourself with our office’s film studio and equipment as well as our online workshop software
Leading all on-set shooting and webinar recording activities
Preparing all on-set production needs before shooting, including lighting, audio, batteries, camera, memory cards, props, teleprompter and talent/team wrangling
Managing and uploading text files for teleprompter and readjusting font size, speed and other settings
Executing all post-production tasks, including video/audio editing, colour grading/correction, subtitling and adding animations
Creating motion graphics that are on-brand
Recording, editing and uploading webinar videos across all relevant platforms and supporting logistics while recording
Engaging in graphic design activities for ad and email campaigns, web pages, PPT presentations and learning materials
Controlling the quality of all deliverables, including proof-reading any typography used
Maintaining excellent communication with all teams on a day-to-day basis to plan ahead, schedule recording dates and creative meetings, arrange and share files
Archiving and indexing raw and completed projects, and sharing with the team in a timely and structured manner
Leading document management activities and organisation of multimedia files such as videos, images, data compilations, meeting notes and digital scrap books
Tagging, naming and cataloguing videos and other files
Taking notes during production, creative meetings and peer-review meetings, and digitalising those notes for team sharing
Tracking and tagging meeting recordings and video classes
Managing and maintaining filing systems and data centres, including coherent and easy-to-find folder structures
Managing and working across multiple projects to reach assigned deadlines

Other activities:

Working with our marketing team members, science educators and writers:
- to plan, schedule and deliver your recording, editing and graphical projects
- to update, improve or redesign existing creatives, including images, graphs, iconography, charts, tables and other visual elements
Documenting and sharing best practices and “working knowledge” with others in the team (and company)
Engaging in various aspects of office management, team-meeting scheduling and note-taking

Your qualifications and experience:

NOTE: While we take into consideration your education, it’s not the only thing that describes your talents. If you think you can do this job, and you can demonstrate it in something you’ve done (previous editing projects, an animation you created, your own videos), then we want to hear from you.

Your strengths and competencies:

Experience with video editing software (e.g. Premier Pro, Final Cut Pro, Sony Vegas, Lightworks or similar)
Basic knowledge in animation and motion design
Basic experience with professional cameras
Ability to troubleshoot, manage and maintain work processes and procedures
Fast-learning abilities and eagerness to expand your skills
Extremely organised and able to work both with a team and independently
Effective collaborator with natural planning and cross-checking tendencies
Outstanding command of both oral and written English
Excellent attention to detial (i.e. did you spot the typo?) and impeccable spelling, grammar and punctuation
Ability to quickly spot and fix inconsistencies in any form of content
Both methodical yet creative thinking
Ability to adapt and improve methods of working so that any mistakes identified are not repeated
Love for science education is a ‘plus’!
