International Day of Health Sciences

17th September

  • Has the pandemic made you reconsider the quality of yours, and others health?

  • Are you seeking new, researched information about maintaining good health?

  • Do you want to understand what affects and influences good health and wellbeing?

  • Do you want to start learning about health from knowledgeable, academic experts?

  • Are you ready to take your health education to the next level?

When it comes to your health, International Day of Health Sciences aims to;
  • Challenge

  • Educate

  • Improve

  • Optimize

This day, set up by The Health Sciences Academy will help people to understand the role of science when it comes to developing optimum health. Participants will come away with newfound knowledge and information around nutritional education, and factors including; science, sleep, supplements, stress, gut health and exercise, and the role they play in both prevention, and progress of health.
International Health Sciences Day will provide factual information, and education designed to help them make informed decisions when it comes to health.
Established by Alex Ruani, PhDc Nutr Sci Ed, UCL Doctoral Researcher and Chief Science Educator, The Health Sciences Academy
Alex Ruani is a Doctoral Researcher in nutrition science education at University College London, and chief science educator at The Health Sciences Academy, where she leads a team of accomplished scientists and PhDs on large education and publishing projects helping 150,000+ working and aspiring nutrition professionals succeed in their careers.
Her expertise is sharing what’s new and what’s actually working in the field of nutrition, giving learners the tools they need to stay on top of evidence-based advice and get ahead of the curve – from nutrition biochemistry, appetite and eating psychology, to nutritional neuroscience, nutritional genetics and epigenetics, and gut microbiomics.
Her most recent research at UCL looks at the main sources of nutrition misinformation during the COVID-19 pandemic, their influence on eating behaviour change, and what makes us believe in harmful food and eating practices, so we can successfully debias these and mitigate the risk of health harm.
Whatever journey your health and health education may be, this day is for you!
