Her journey began with dreams of independence, but a traumatic head injury left her completely blind, shattering her aspirations. However, motherhood brought new purpose and value to her life, igniting her passion for nutrition.

Despite overwhelming difficulties, she found the courage to pursue her dream of becoming a Clinical Nutritionist with The Health Sciences Academy. And her testimonial expresses her heartfelt gratitude for the love, value, and support she has received throughout her educational journey.

Here's her story, in her own words:

Gratitude is the theme of my testimonial

I am a 54-year-old mother, Buddhist, and certified holistic life fitness nutrition and environmental coach. When I was 18, my independence and dreams were just beginning, but then due to a traumatic head injury, I immediately became totally blind. I have absolutely no vision at all. My independence was gone, and the potential of anything I ever dreamed of for my career and future was crashed.

Being a mother at the age of 22 showed me the importance and value of nutrition. The certifications I earned before becoming a student at The Health Sciences Academy gave me the courage to continue my journey.

Even though it was overwhelmingly difficult, I was lovingly supported by my son and encouraged by others to keep going. I have been a student of The Health Sciences Academy since February 2023, and because of their CEO, Maurice Castelijn, now I know how to build a sophisticated nutrition career. And to dream like I have never dreamed before. With the continual, loving support from my son and his wife and my career counsellor, Je, from The Health Sciences Academy…
I will live my nutritionist career dream to bring value and purpose to others’ lives forever. 
I had a meeting with Maurice and Je. Maurice asked me what I needed to be able to participate in the education program. When I shared my needs with him, he was very happy, quick to make sure that anything I needed in any way was going to be handled.

He asked Je to make all the connections necessary with the team to ensure that all hands are on deck, I will never be left behind, and all of my needs will be met.

They have believed in me, and now I strongly and confidently believe in myself to become a Clinical Nutritionist from The Health Sciences Academy.
If anybody is considering becoming a student with The Health Sciences Academy but is unsure, I want you to know there is nothing that should stop you. You will be supported, encouraged and inspired all along the way by Maurice and the entire team at the academy.
