Food labels exist to give us consumers the ability to judge the nutritional value of the food before purchasing it. Key information listed on food labels are the products content, ingredients, allergy information and nutritional value such calories (which may be written as energy), fat, carbohydrates, fibre, protein, salt (or sodium).
