Heavy metals

A heavy metal is a metallic compound with a higher density and toxic even at low concentrations. Hazardous concentrations can lead to serious health issues and even death. Some metals can be neurotoxic (toxic for our brain and nerves, causing neurodegenerative and/or neuro-motor problems), genotoxic (toxic for our genes, causing mutations in our genetic code, which may lead to cancer), and/or carcinogenic (cancer-causing). Example include mercury, lead, aluminium, arsenic, antimony, and tin.
