Juicing and smoothies

Smoothies and juices may have different levels of nutrients. When juiced, pureed, or chewed, the plant cells in fruits and vegetables are “opened up”, allowing nutrients such as phytochemicals and antioxidants to be released, making them more accessible and more bioavailable so they can be absorbed into the bloodstream and support your internal detoxification processes. After antioxidants like polyphenols are released from the plant cell, most of them bind to the plant fibre and thus end up in the pulp.
