Sugar sensitivity

A sugar intolerance is also known as a dietary fructose intolerance or sugar malabsorption. Hereditary fructose intolerance (HFI) is a rare disease due to lowered functioning of the enzyme aldolase B (ALDOB), which is involved in the breakdown of fructose. Those with a diagnosed intolerance to fructose, may benefit from going on a FODMAP diet.
