Dream

In 1899, Dr Sigmund Freud proposed that dreams are the unconscious mind acting out what we are unable to do in our waking life. Traditionally, dreams were thought to only occur during REM sleep, but some dreaming may occur at other times during sleep. Areas of the brain thought to be involved in dreaming include the parieto-temporo-occipital junction and an area of the frontal lobe (called the ventro-mesial quadrant).
