5 tips to make the most of your course

One of the great advantages of distance learning is that you can study whenever is best for you. Morning, noon, night, weekends.

However, in order to make the most of your course, we think it’s important to give you a few hints on the process of studying:

TIP 1. Set a fixed study agenda

You can study your course at your own pace. In a few days, or in a couple of years. Because of this, we don’t send you reminders about your assessments. It’s up to you to decide how fast you study. Nevertheless, you’ll get the best results and the most enjoyment from it if you can study regularly. Set yourself a study schedule each week which suits your circumstances.

Our students have varied lifestyles and requirements, and what works for you may not work for everyone. So, we suggest you experiment until you discover what suits you. Then, do your best to stick to it.

TIP 2. Look at it as an adventure

A few moments ago we mentioned the word enjoyment, and we certainly want you to enjoy your time with us. Look upon your studies as an adventure in extending your knowledge – a new field to conquer! Throw yourself into them with enthusiasm and vigour. This is the way to get both the maximum enjoyment and the maximum benefit from them.

TIP 3. Take one step at a time

Our courses are specifically designed so that you start with relatively easy work and then progress to more complex content as your knowledge expands. We ask all students to complete the modules in sequence because each module builds upon the previous one. Because of the importance of the certification to be obtained, in order to gain access to a subsequent module, you first need to pass your end-of-module quiz. As you pass your first quiz, you’ll be taken to your second module. This process is then repeated for the rest of the course, until you’re ready to take your final theory exam.

TIP 4. Apply your new knowledge

As you go through your course, don’t restrict your learning to the lessons only. Study each module in detail but also complete all of your fun assignments and worksheets. We want you to do this whether your ambitions are to help yourself, your loved ones or your clients. Print each of your Downloadable Client Materials and Session Handouts and put them into action. Don’t worry if you don’t have a printer, we can send you your course materials by post for an additional fee.

TIP 5. Be Curious

As well as studying the modules, it is equally important that you think deeply about them. Think how you can apply the instruction to your own life or practice. But don’t stop there. Extend your research. This will help develop your own powers of analysis and expression. Start with the “Additional Resources” listed at the end of your lessons and keep digging deeper into the topics that interest you the most!
