This just means you are looking for different ways you can help your clients and you want to discover how else you can add value. This can only happen when you start growing your Nutrition business.

Choosing to grow your nutrition business can seem intimidating especially when you think of how to get clients. But you must bear in mind that nutrition is a big topic now and people are searching for ways to eat better and ultimately live better and that’s where you come in.

There are so many opportunities out there for you to explore. So many areas where you can add value and grow your client base. The trick is identifying where you fit in. What area of nutrition fascinates you? If you have an existing nutrition business, are you armed with the necessary tools and education to help you excel in your areas of focus? We want to help you figure that out.

What are the stages of growing your Nutrition business?

Stage 1 – Becoming Specialised

Specialisation involves gaining expert proficiency in a particular area. If you want to stay ahead in the future, specialisation is not only important but mandatory.

In as much as you want to immediately begin to grow your business, you need to become specialised in at least one area of nutrition. Start by creating a niche. It sets you apart from other professionals who lack the experience, right education, and tools to handle unique client requests, and they end up missing out on key opportunities.

Now, what areas of specialisation can you explore as a nutrition professional?

When considering what area of nutrition to specialise in, you may feel overwhelmed by the numerous options available to you. To help make your decision easier, you can start by focusing on the opportunities that align with your interests, passions, and career goals.

Here are some career paths you can explore to grow your business nutrition:

Stage 2 – Getting the word out

If you aren’t doing this already or perhaps you started and met with disappointing results, here is your chance to give it another try. This can be fun to do and you can see the results as they start to come in which is pretty rewarding.

Here are some quick ways to attract clients if you are interested in growing your nutrition business:

Word of mouth

Don’t be afraid to tell people what you do and ask for recommendations. Many nutrition business owners can tell you that word of mouth is one of the most powerful ways to find and attract new clients. Any time that a potential client is looking for a nutrition advisor or health coach, many will immediately ask for recommendations from friends.

So, start spreading the word today.

Leverage social media

Social media is a great tool for marketing yourself. In 2020, there were 3.96 billion people actively using social media in the world and this number is growing exponentially. You can leverage the different social media platforms and make yourself seen by ensuring your pages reflect your profession.

Join groups, host live sessions, partner with influencers, and much more.

It’s also a good idea to make sure that your LinkedIn page is professional and up to date. This will help you establish credibility with both clients and potential colleagues.

Partner with local or remote businesses with similar interests.

Give free talks (for now), partner with neighborhood businesses that promote your area of specialisation. Network! Network! Network!

Referrals

Referral programs – where a current or former client recommends your services in exchange for a discount or incentive – are also fantastic for building a client base!

Stage 3 – Becoming a Multi-Service Practitioner

Now it’s time to reach and help as many people as possible. You can do this by multiplying your specialisations and combining them to serve new and existing clients.

These combinations allow different certifications to work with one another to enhance the value.

Imagine a client that started with you because they had a weight loss goal… Then, maybe they decided to incorporate a serious exercise routine into their daily life. Having both a weight loss certification and a sports nutrition certification gives you the ability to help them in multiple ways simultaneously.

Now, imagine that the same client has small children and wants to improve their nutrition at home… Add in your Advanced Child and Brain Development certification, and you’ve tripled your value!

Remember you have already established some level of trust with them and this is a good thing because they do not have to go through the entire grueling process of getting to know a new practitioner. They can come to you to help them address multiple nutrition needs.

If you’re doing a great job and multiplying specialisations, you’ll multiply your earning potential.
